- 2 cans of tuna, drained
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1 celery stalk, finely chopped
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 4 slices of bread
- 4 slices of cheddar cheese
- 2 tablespoons butter
In a mixing bowl, combine the drained tuna, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, chopped celery, and black pepper. Stir until well mixed.
Spread butter on one side of each slice of bread. Place the bread, buttered side down, on a cutting board. Layer each slice with tuna salad and a slice of cheddar cheese. Top with the remaining bread slices, buttered side up.
Heat a skillet or griddle over medium heat. Place the sandwiches in the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted.
Remove from the skillet, cut in half if desired, and serve warm.
