Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup shredded cheese
  • 1 package refrigerated pie crusts (2 crusts)
  • 1 egg, beaten

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Add the diced onion, garlic, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper, and cook for an additional 5 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool.
  • Roll out the pie crusts on a lightly floured surface. Using a round cutter or a glass, cut out circles from the dough.
  • Spoon some of the beef mixture onto the center of each dough circle, then sprinkle with shredded cheese. Fold the dough over the filling to form a half-moon shape, then crimp the edges with a fork to seal.
  • Place the empanadas on the prepared baking sheet. Brush the tops with beaten egg.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and crispy.
  • Serve the empanadas warm, with your favorite dipping sauce or salsa on the side.
