  • Hand or stand mixer
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Baking Sheet
  • Parchment paper or silicone baking mat
  • Cooling rack

Ingredients

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone mats.
  • Cream the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar together until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture. Mix until just combined. Stir in the chocolate chips.
  • Scoop dough using a cookie scoop or tablespoon and place on prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  • Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden. The centers may look slightly underdone but will set as they cool.
  • Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
