Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound (450g) pound cake or sponge cake, cut into cubes
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 1 cup fresh blueberries
  • 1 cup fresh raspberries
  • 1 package (3.4 ounces) instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 2 cups cold milk
  • 2 cups whipped cream or whipped topping
  • 1/4 cup sugar (optional, for sweetening berries)
  • Fresh mint leaves for garnish (optional)

Instructions
 

  • In a mixing bowl, whisk together the instant vanilla pudding mix and cold milk until thickened. Fold in the whipped cream or whipped topping until well combined.
  • If desired, toss the sliced strawberries with 1/4 cup sugar to sweeten them.
  • In the bottom of the trifle bowl or individual glasses, place a layer of cake cubes.
  • Add a layer of the pudding mixture on top of the cake.
  • Add a layer of mixed berries (strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries).
  • Repeat the layers until the bowl is filled, ending with a layer of berries on top.
  • Refrigerate the trifle for at least 2 hours before serving to allow the flavors to meld. Garnish with fresh mint leaves if desired.
