- 2 slices of bread (whole wheat, white, or sourdough)
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tablespoon butter or oil (for cooking)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Optional: Cheese slice, avocado, hot sauce, or other toppings
Toast your bread slices in a toaster or on a grill pan until golden brown.
Whisk eggs in a small bowl with a pinch of salt and pepper. Melt butter or heat oil in a nonstick skillet over medium heat. Pour in the eggs and cook, stirring gently until soft and fluffy.
Heat the butter or oil in the skillet over medium heat. Crack the eggs into the skillet and cook until whites are set but yolks are still runny, or cook longer for firmer yolks. Season with salt and pepper.
Place the cooked eggs on one slice of the toasted bread. Add any optional toppings, like cheese or avocado, then top with the other slice of bread.
Cut in half if desired and serve warm.
