Ingredients
  

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1 1/4 cups milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter (melted)
  • Optional toppings: Maple syrup, fresh fruit, chocolate chips, or whipped cream

Instructions
 

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
  • Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients.
  • Pour in the milk, crack in the egg, and add the melted butter.
  • Whisk gently until the batter is smooth. Avoid overmixing; small lumps are fine.
  • Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat. Lightly grease with butter or cooking spray.
  • Pour 1/4 cup of batter onto the skillet for each pancake.
  • Cook for 2-3 minutes until bubbles form on the surface and the edges look set.
  • Flip the pancake and cook for another 1-2 minutes until golden brown.
  • Transfer the pancakes to a plate and keep warm. Repeat with the remaining batter.
  • Serve warm with your favorite toppings.
